From its most humble roots as a tailoring service in Nice, France, Faconnable has embodied the art of tailoring and celebrates its French artisan ways. The tailor's form embodies the craft, the attention to detail and the art of fashioning. Not a surprise that the name Faconnable originated from this very spirit - Facon is a French word meaning to create, to fashion.
Commissioned by Faconnable for their Dallas Grand Opening party in October 2001, artists Robin Oldham and Tracy Graivier Bell of Smashing Times® found inspiration in the Faconnable story. They fastened intricate tiles, glass, thimbles and pottery to this tailoring form to create the most envied coat rack in Dallas, Texas. The work is titled "Marge". Visit the new Faconnable store in Northpark Mall in Dallas to see Marge in person.
